Lynden is a hard-working, industrious community with a deeply rooted cultural heritage. A skate park in this town should reflect the character of Lynden while providing a well-designed skating structure for the skaters of the community.
Tentative Location: The greenspace north of City Hall on the corner of 4th Street and Main Street.

The skate park being envisioned has these characteristics:
- A family-friendly, piazza-like atmosphere with seating, shade and landscaping to make a pleasant public space. Keep the beautiful trees that already grow in the space.
- Skating elements that are distinct from other skate parks in the county so that skaters experience a variety of skating environments.
- A range of skill zones from young beginners to experienced skaters.
- Aesthetic qualities in the skate structure like tinted concrete and tilework under the rims.
- Lamp posts around the park and skating structure.
- Water fountain or bottle fill station.
- Surveillance camera so that parents can keep an eye on kids from home.
Hopefully, as input is gathered and the vision comes into greater focus, sketches of the skate plaza will become available to display on this site.
